The Atascadero Community Band is pleased to announce the appointment of David Landers as its new Resident Conductor.
Landers will begin his residency conducting the band’s fall concert, “Critter Pitter Patter,” on Sunday, October 25, at 3:00 p.m. at the Atascadero Bible Church.
A lifelong musician, Landers began playing trombone in 1981 and holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Middle Tennessee State University and a Master of Music in Conducting from Sam Houston State University. He spent 23 years as Director of Bands at Templeton High School and has been active as both an educator and professional musician throughout the Central Coast.
Over the years, Landers has performed with artists including Diane Schuur, The Temptations, Allen Vizzutti and Jon Anderson of Yes, as well as with numerous Central Coast ensembles. His extensive experience as a musician, educator and conductor makes him a welcome addition to the Atascadero Community Band.
The Atascadero Community Band invites the community to join us on October 25 to welcome David Landers and enjoy an afternoon of live concert band music.
